Why should we meet the W3C Standards

The social value of the Web is that it enables human communication, commerce, and opportunities to share knowledge. One of W3C's primary goals is to make these benefits available to all people, whatever their hardware, software, network infrastructure, native language, culture, geographical location, or physical or mental ability.

How to test:

1. Visit the W3C website - http://www.w3.org/

2. Choose the validation service required from the menu on the left. Our first test will be to ensure a website meets the XHTML 1.0 Strict Standard, the highest available for the code Markup.

3. Enter the URL i.e. http://www.n-web.com/index.html

4. Click "check"

5. You will then be given the results of the validation check and all errors will be listed

6. Our web designers then go through the code correcting errors until they are all cleared, you are then given code from the W3C to display the Standard achieved.

7. This process is repeated on every page of a website

8. We then use the W3C CSS validation check to ensure the style sheets also conform to the standards set

9. Finally, if a site is required to meet level A Disability Standards, we visit W3C WAI Website
